This week we’ve been busying ourselves at a business up in Ballymena doing a full WiFi and network takeover and upgrade.
The existing comms infrastructure had definitely seen better days and needed some care and attention. We had 2 wall mounted 6U cabs, both with different dimensions fitted side by side and the patching had got out of hand. We decided to drop them both and fit 1 wall mounted 12U cab and install lots of shiny new things in it 
In went a cloud hosted WiFi and network solution including a router, 2 x Gigabit switches and 6 x UniFi6 WiFi access points. This will be maintained and managed by ourselves for our client.
There was a fair bit work to be done which involved a lot of tracing cables, replacing faulty cables, replacing faulty modules, making redundant points live again and keeping the majority of devices online so the business could function as normal with very little downtime.
Everything turned out well in the end and everyone went home happy
